Gavin began his legal career at a well known silver circle firm, where he trained and qualified into the Banking and Finance Disputes team. During his time there, he advised international and corporate clients on a wide range of intricate disputes.
He has played a key role in a number of landmark cases, including the £400 million Ingenious film finance litigation, involving over 500 claimants, and the $10 billion dispute between the Federal Republic of Nigeria and P&ID – both of which were recognised among The Lawyer’s top 20 cases of 2022 and 2023.
At Milberg, Gavin acts as lead Associate on some of the firm’s largest Group Action cases, and manages the firm’s Client Care Centre in Sheffield. His background in mathematics gives him a highly analytical and methodical approach, particularly in cases involving complex quantum.
“Gavin is a superb lawyer. He is very clever, a great team player, strategically astute and highly focused on achieving the client’s litigation objectives. His management of a file – whether advisory or litigation is very assured. I consider him to be a very safe pair of hands.”
“Gavin was instrumental in the team which helped litigate and settle a complex long-running dispute. He held the pen on a significant part of the agreement and proposed key amendments and provisions which broke logjams”.
