Prior to joining Milberg, Fabian began his career in academia as a Project Assistant and Lecturer at the Vienna University of Economics and Business, while writing his PhD thesis on ‘Player Copyrights and Antitrust Ecosystems in eSports and Gaming’. This included research stays at the University of Glasgow and the University of Augsburg.
Fabian has published several articles on market definition, merger control and the economics of ecosystems in the Journal of European Competition Law & Practice, as well as Germany and Austria’s leading journals on sports, eSports, and competition law.
Professionally, Fabian advised a Viennese boutique law firm as Of Counsel on various competition law issues concerning software in the transport industry. He also worked in in-house departments for a major German Media, Broadcasting & Entertainment company, as well as a start-up in the AI & audio technology space. His experience further includes interning at the German Federal Cartel Office, as well as one of Europe’s most established eSports organizations.
In his spare time, Fabian volunteers and enjoys running and reading.
