Representing clients in high-value and complex claims at leading global litigation practices across the City, Nicola has been involved in some of the UK’s most high-profile commercial disputes. She has represented clients before the English courts and in international commercial arbitrations, as well as advising clients in relation to negotiations, mediations, expert determination and also managing business relationships outside traditional dispute resolution avenues.
Before joining Milberg London, Nicola represented clients from a range of sectors, including financial services, manufacturing, pharmaceutical, insurance, renewable energy, oil and gas, construction and real estate. She has particular experience advising on complex multi-jurisdictional disputes and coordinating strategy across teams including foreign lawyers and industry experts.
Nicola now specialises in group claims against large institutional defendants and is part of the team at Milberg London acting on behalf of tens of thousands of motorists in various emissions claims. She was instrumental in setting up The Collective Redress Lawyers Association (of which Milberg London is a founding member) and continues to sit on its committee. Nicola also continues to work on general commercial disputes and investigations within Milberg London’s Commercial Litigation practice.
Qualified as a lawyer in England & Wales and Australia, Nicola holds a Bachelor of Laws, Bachelor of Arts with honours and a Doctorate from the University of Queensland. She is passionate about 18th-century history, Casanova, Dave Grohl and Heat magazine.
Nicola is also a volunteer English language coach for refugees and asylum seekers and enjoys mentoring students and younger members of the legal profession.
In 2023, Nicola was named in Legal 500 as a “Key Lawyer” for Dispute Resolution> Group Litigation: Claimant.
